Abstract

In the running neo-colonial era Urdu language has become much more mandatory for our national identity then that of creating like-mindedness among the people of the state. The principles and requisites of maintaining the distinguishing characteristics of a
particular nation, in a “global village” of ours have changed a lot because the creation of similarity in ideas, feelings, temperaments and actions in neo-colonized nations is one of the fundamental characteristics of prevailing globalization. In such a crucial “do or die” position the national languages prove to be the battle ground between the neo-masters and the neo-slaves. In this article, the essentiality of our national Urdu language in the management of national consensus as well as the maintaining of
national identity has been discussed in the context of today’s neo-colonized era.
