Abstract

This study Seeks to examine the intricate relationship between language, its script, and the cultural context in which they evolve. The advent of the information age has revolutionized the modern world. with all its various channels of communication, i.e. internet, mobile and social media using mostly Roman script, it becomes imperative to ascertain the significance of restoring and preserving the cultural and philosophical roots of the script of Urdu language. In modern times, it is essential to explore the significance of preserving the relationship between language and its script and also examine the ulterior motives behind the conscious efforts of linguistic policies of Fort William College along with introducing Sanskrit and Roman scripts in India and Pakistan. A Comparative metaphysical analysis of urdu script with roman and Sanskrit script becomes imperative. The study aims to address the abovementioned objectives in the light of historical research in the field. The research scholar has made efforts to investigate the significance of restoring and preserving the cultural and philosophical roots of Urdu script critically and analytically.
